AISM believes that the protection of personal data is an essential value to allow each person to use his services in total freedom and security. The Association, as organizer of the event, allows "users" (eg the delegates of the AISM or MSIF) to register through this online platform, to participate in the World Conference of the MS International Federation ( MSIF).

When you use this site, we will process your personal data, in a confidential manner and in accordance with EU Regulation 679/2016 (hereafter "GDPR"). For these reasons, we would like to provide you some information so that you know exactly what data we collect, how we process it and what measures we carry out to protect your privacy.

What information we collect

Information provided directly by you

AISM collects the following data spontaneously given by you:

      • personal data (such as your name, surname, date of birth, email, etc.) to participate in thematic conferences of the MSIF;

      • information related to your health or in general your relationship with Multiple Sclerosis and / or other disabilities, in order to offer you more targeted services and to satisfy your needs;

      • banking data to enable you to book a thematic conference, to book a hotel partner of AISM or MSIF, to book a tourist package and / or other accessory services (eg transport, meals, drinks, etc .).

In this regard, for banking data we want to remind you that the credit card information (number, expiry date, generality of the owner) may be known by Paypal, also through people who, under the direct authority of the controller or processor, are authorized to process personal data. Therefore, AISM assumes doesn’t have responsibility regard to unauthorized or fraudulent use, in favor of AISM or MSIF, of your credit card by third parties.

What are cookies and how they are used by AISM

Why we use your data

AISM on this site processes your personal data to pursue these purposes:

      • registration for one or more thematic conferences of the MSIF;

      • provision of holiday packages or ancillary services;

      • to offer personalized assistance and support services based on your needs;

      • administrative tasks;

      • fulfillment of legal obligations (eg tax obligations, etc.).

In some cases, the processing of the data provided by you is mandatory for the performance of a contractual service requested by you (ex Article 6, letter b GDPR) – for example, to participate to a thematic conference or to book a holiday packages - and therefore, failure to provide them would make it impossible for AISM to satisfy the request that you spontaneously submitted.

In other cases, the assignment to AISM of your personal data is optional, but necessary to be able to customize and to improve the quality of our services, to respond as best as possible to your needs, and we process your data only after your express consent.

Who process your data

AISM respects your privacy, sharing information that concerns you only in special cases and in any case ensuring that the processing is carried out in compliance with GDPR.

In this regard, AISM provides information about you to others (eg MSIF or its suppliers) only in the following circumstances:

  • for purposes related to the provision of the services requested by you, data may be transfer to third parties, who will act as Processor by providing services to meet your request (eg to MSIF, to verify the registration to the thematic conferences, to the hotel to verify your reservation, etc.) or to which the communication of the data is necessary to comply with laws or regulations;

      • to provide some aspects of our services, for example to facilitate our users in the execution of payments by credit card, we rely on suppliers, consultants, collaborators, etc. In this case, we verify that our partners and suppliers always ensure the best standards in terms of security and confidentiality;

      • to comply with any applicable laws, regulations, legal proceedings or requests by public authorities;

      • to detect, prevent or resolve problems related to fraud, for security reasons or for technical problems;

Finally, we remind you that your personal data will never be disseminate without your express consent.

Transfer of personal data outside the EU

Your personal data will be stored on servers located within the European Union and will not be transferred to countries / organizations outside the EU or in any case not subject to GDPR regulations.

Data storage time

The personal data will be stored for the period necessary with regard to the purposes indicated in this statement and in any case respecting the following terms:

      • for data relating to the use of services (eg booking accommodation) the deadline is 10 years from the termination / use of the service;

      • for financial / tax data (eg payments, refunds, etc.) are kept for the duration required by applicable tax and accounting laws.

For all other types of data, they will be store for the necessary time and in compliance with current legislation.

What are your rights

You can exercise at any time the rights referred to Articles 15-22 of EU Regulation 679/2016:

      • the updating, correction, integration, cancellation, transformation into anonymous form, blocking of data processed in violation of the law, including those no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected;

      • information about the logic, methods and purposes of the processing;

      • to receive personal data in a structured format, commonly used and readable by an automatic device;

      • to withdraw any consent given regarding the processing of your data at any time and objecting in whole or in part to the use of the Data;

      • to send a complaint to the Authority, as well as to exercise the other rights recognized by the current legislation.

Before responding to your request, we may ask you to verify your identity and provide further details. However, we will try to respond within an appropriate period of time and, in any case, within the period of time required by law.

Protection of minors

AISM does not allow people under the age of 16 to use their services (booking of stays, etc.) and, therefore, does not intentionally collect information about them. We want to inform you that if we have collected personal information relating to minors under the age of 16, in the absence of demonstrable parental consent, we will remove such information from our databases as quickly as possible.
